2010 is a transition period with the responsibility for track and field coach training and accreditation shifting from the Australian Track and Field Coaches Association to Athletics Australia and the Australian Sports Commission.

Athletics Australia and the Australian Sports Commission are now responsible for all level 1 and 2 accreditation courses. AA and the ASC had intended to be offering their 1-day Level 1 course [replacing the ATFCA 2-day Level I course], by January 2010 but a starting date has yet to be advised.

As soon as the preparation of the AA/ASC L1 course is complete, the presenters trained, and the course trialled, it is anticipated that the Member Associations (in Victoria this will be Athletics Victoria) and the various state branches of the ATFCA will apply to be providers. Once providers are selected, the AA/ASC Level 1 courses will be advertised.

A similar process is expected to follow when the AA/ASC Level 2 course is released, about mid-year.

Level 1 courses will be advertised sometime after June 2010.

The current ATFCA Level II course will be replaced by the AA/ASC Level 2 Course later this year; certainly after June but probably sometime after July. To date, no details of the AA/ASC Level 2 course are available other than it will have three target streams.

Workshop topics will be advertised soon. As in 2007-09, there will be two to four separate event-group streams offered on each date.

A number of regional workshops might be offered in September 2010. Details to follow.
